Some of the major factors of life the living rough have to deal with is hygiene, antigenes, clean jeans, family genes and Benjameans. Dealing with pretty miss Jeanie in the bottle is something we hope to encounter with a modicum of success. Clean clothes don't last and they are one of the separators between the pillars of society and the earth the pillars stand on. What is it about the transient that makes them want to wear dirty clothing? Is it a badge of honor worn only by the battle worn or is there something more sinister lurking beneath the outer armor. I believe society should provide for clean laundry. If folks can't manage to get to the laundry and pay for service it should be given gratis. There are plenty of clothes out there and therefore no reason for the citizens of earth to don crusty garments beyond their use. It's mind warping to have to do as much. A "free" spa would not be too difficult to organize. Sentient beings, vehicles, buildings and lungs are better feeling when they are kept up. Yes it's true that many of the indigents are predisposed to mental illness which leads to a natural separation from others , but this must be changed from within. Within us, the "normal", caring, apathetic majority. Where is the "CARE"? If there were more women running the world we would have more money for matters that matter such as pocket change for those without, health care for everyone. When the Snacton gets recognized there will be social programs which include large gardening tracts, the land of which is worked by the living rough. Hands in soil are soon healed. Farms covered by photo-voltaic panels providing shade, wines, meats, fuel, beers, medicine, work, income and energy for the masses of those with and without. We have the acreage and technology to make this happen, all we need is desire and the magic will follow.
Went and bought my first pack of smokes in nearly two years. I rode the bike for 15 miles yesterday from Tropicana and Mountain Vista, so as to pick up the van on Decatur and Desert Inn. Aerobics are key to fitness. Coffee ain't key.
